Adorning the wall of the Vietnamese Mint Restaurant in Bulimba Queensland, Trompe Moongate is a gateway into Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. When complete, this mural will create a truly unique welcome for people visiting the restaurant.
As the scene viewed through the circular moongate comes to life, Jacqueline Hill takes inspiration from some of her own paintings of Vietnam. These paintings were part of her 2015 Daily Painting project.
Jacqueline Hill is currently on-site and marking up the design for Trompe Moongate. Below is a photo of the original wall and also is the finished brick facade and prepared circular wall surface, ready for the first brush strokes!
