It’s the very first day on location in Bulimba for the Trompe Moongate art project. This project is right next door to the beautiful Vietnamese restaurant, Vietnamese Mint. Renovations to the restaurant have now finished and the wall space has been prepped. It’s now ready to be marked up and painted!
The mural will be of Hạ Long Bay in Vietnam, with the circular moongate as a border. The moongate is made by a number of intricate scaled bricks that go all the way around the edge of the mural. This helps to create a 3D effect of looking into the wall. Today, I’m working on the transition between the real brick and my painted brick. Check out the time-lapse above to see how I prep my murals, or watch the videos below for more information. Stay tuned for updates on my progress!
